The Tallahatchie RiverFest, held in historic downtown New Albany, celebrates the creative spirit of the region through which this river flows. With its source near the North Mississippi Appalachian foothills, the Tallahatchie bends its way through forests and wetlands as it crosses the hills into the mighty Mississippi. On William Faulkner's "postage stamp of native soil," with Appalachian country and bluegrass, Delta blues, and New Orleans jazz, New Albany and Union County celebrate the spirit of the artists, craftsmen, writers, and musicians of the region around the banks of the river…The Tallahatchie! The Tallahatchie RiverFest, sponsored in part by the City of New Albany, is coordinated by the Union CouTallahatchie Riverfest, New Albany, MSnty Development Association.
